'Sauna as ritual. Spaces for healing and regeneration.' Welcome to an evening of dialogue about the importance of sauna throughout Finnish history and culture. Come and learn about how sauna has been used as a space for healing and regeneration. Dr. Kaarina Kailo will be leading the conversation at this event. She is a leading voice in matriarchal and womens studies, mythology and land based practice. Her research on sauna culture is expansive and she has recently published a book 'Finnish Shamanism Laid Bare: Sauna Ecology and Embodied Rituals. The evening will take place at the beautiful seaside sauna 'Laitakarin Merihelmi' and will be followed by and opportunity to enjoy the sauna and a dip in the sea. The event is only for women. Thursday 1st of October, 18.00- 20.30. Laitakarin Merihelmi Laitakarintie 312, 29100 Luvia EUR 15 includes attendance at the discussion, sauna and light snacks.
